Redline Cup Series

Points Race #1: While you no longer have to make your main event in order to get invited to the Finals; your placing in the RL Cup Qualifier main will now count toward your No.1 title-chase. Winning at this race could now be the difference between you and the overall No.1 plate – making the mains at RL Cup Q’s even more competitive.

Points Race #2: Your second points race in the chase will be the PRYME U.S. OPEN; held on the Saturday of the RL CUP Finals weekend. Prior to this, the U.S. Open has never counted for more than just multi-district points. It is now a key part of your total score for the Redline Cup Championship .. and will be brought to you by PrymeGear.com; maker of the 2009 special edition Redline helmet.

Points Race #3: With the three regional REDLINE CUP FINALS (one on the East coast, one in Central U.S., and the third on the West), you’ll now need more than just a win at the Finals to earn the No.1 Redline Cup plate and receive all of its glory. Of course, winning at the Finals will likely be a necessity to win the overall – as long as you have some good scores from the Qualifier and U.S. Open.
As soon as riders cross the finishline in their main, points will be tabulated and awarded in a Podium ceremony after the race. The top three finishes in the main will be awarded a No.1, No.2 and No.3 Redline Cup plate.

Classes for Redline Cup:

Riders shall be competing for the class & proficiency championship title in their respective region. When referring to class champions, the classes will be as follows: Cruiser—8 & under, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56 & over; Girl Cruiser—10 & under, 11-13, 14-16, 17-20, 21-25, 26- 30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46 & Over; Girls—5 & under, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17-27 28 & over; Boys Novice/Inter/Expert —5 & under, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17-18, 19-27, 28-35, 36-40, 41 & Over.

In the Boy classes, all Novice, Intermediate and Expert will be pointed and plated by proficiency (i.e. plates will go to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall for the Series).

No longer are you able to just race one bike at a Redline Cup Qualifier, and make it either class, cruiser, or open in order to be “IN” for the final.  If a rider wants to plate and jacket on a bike then they will need to race both bikes.  It is a three race series.  How you do at a qualifier plus Saturdays and Sundays race at the final.   A rider does not need to make their main.  They just need to have raced.  They get 10 points if they don’t make the main, just like state.

As far as opens go, at a local RLQ opens are treated basically as track time.  Racing in an open class will not qualify you for Saturday and Sunday’s race. 

ABA will plate and jacket opens but will only use Sat and Sun finishes in their tabulation.

All riders Redline points will be recorded with their actual age as of their respective Redline Cup Final date.

In the event of a tie in final points, the best finish at the Redline Cup Championship Sunday race will break the tie.

Redline Cup Points Table:

To determine a Redline Cup Champion in each class/proficiency, the point system will be used as represented in Redline Cup / State / Provincial points table.

Awards

A maximum of three scores will be counted, one of which will be your best Redline Cup Qualifier finish, the other two being the Saturday and Sunday races at the Redline Cup Final.

The winner of each class at each respective Redline Cup Championship Final will be awarded a custom Redline Cup jacket and a #1 Redline Cup number plate which may be run until the conclusion of the following year’s Redline Cup Final of that region. Riders finishing 2nd and 3rd place in the Series will also be awarded Redline
Cup number plates.

Positive changes for participants of the Redline Cup Series

1. Redline Cup # plates at the Finals will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place riders in every main - and can be ran all year round.

2. ANYBODY can now race the regionalized Redline Cup Finals - you no longer have to make a main event at a Qualifer in order to attend.

3. The chase to become a REDLINE CUP Champion now includes points from three events - their best finish at a RL Cup Qualifier, their finish at Saturday's PRYME U.S.Open and at Sunday's REDLINE CUP FINALS (East, Central or West).
